Hd Theater System

will buying a 5.1 home theatre system make my tv sound hd?
i want to enjoy some good movies and sports in hd. but i can't afford to buy an hdtv. so i am earning for a $40 home theatre system (durabrand) at walmart.
if you don't know please don't ask.
my tv has a coaixil (or something like that) cable specialy for home theatres.
Bad news buddy. Only newer TV's offer audio output to send the sound from your TV through your home theater system. If you want to watch TV in 5.1 sound you better make sure your TV has audio output.
Also you might want to spend a little more on the sound system. You can get an excellent Sony HTIB (home theater in a box) for a little more than $100. Its worth the investment.
