Polk Audio Speakers
I just bought a pair of Polk Audio speakers and Rti8 I wonder how two of my dg800 amp Sony STR?
I need to know how bi amp these speakers because I am told thats the best way to listen to them, I tried to graft them falling from the canal, but my receiver entered into protection mode after the volume level of 30, it maxs at 76 so I figureed I did it wrong. some one can help
"Bi-amping" the conduct of each speaker with two amps - (bi means two). Your receiver is not designed to do - It has a single amplifier for each speaker. The only difference between these speakers and "ordinary" is that those they have separate connectors for high-frequency drivers and low frequency drivers. They can be used with "normal" amplifiers, ie amplifiers which have a single set of connectors for each speaker, "linking the two sets of connectors on each speaker" and using a single cable between it and the amplifier as is with most other systems. Are you done? For "bi-amplification" them you have to remove the jumper between the two sets of connectors and drive each section of the speaker "from a separate amplifier. Bi-twist, on the other hand, is running two separate cables, a set of connections to each speaker, "from the amplifier output as well. This can provide a better theoretical performance, but I'm willing to bet a large sum that few people hear the difference. As far as the amplifier is concerned, this is exactly the same as that using a single cable with the two sets of speaker connections "connected together. I had a very brief look on the net for your "speaker and amplifier specifications, but could not see any mention figures designed charge amplifier or impedance of the speaker. When you say "It maxs (capped) to 76" do you mean that 76, probably on a scale of 100, the maximum bet is that you can use with other speakers, before hearing an obvious distortion? Or what? (By the way, the volume is one level. To say "volume" is a tortology - the look in the dictionary - "level" the word is unnecessary) Your problem interest me ..
