Spa Garden Rock

Creative ideas for landscaping outdoor spa?

So far, the area was a garden raised brick, attached. We decided to plunk a spa in it. There will be a 5 'x 8' (40 sq. ft.) open space on the raised garden we need to do something with. The options are: cement in. Disadvantage: the garden is currently under irrigation, which would be closed forever. Advantages: no maintenance. Flower or vegetable garden. Rockery. Fontaine. OR?

I have a spa attached to my pool and have run a planter on the back of the pool with very low maintenance plants and decorative rock that keeps weeds to a minimum. I am in Florida, so it's a process throughout the year, but I'm not complaining! haha (I'm lucky:). Around the resort, I decided to pot plants and they are beautiful! I plant a main plant in the middle of the container (a perennial or palm) and yearly around the border. This way I can change all the time. I have about 6 pots of size different around the spa and they just look great. They sit on my patio pavers (which could be a good idea instead of concrete). I just mix them all up! Yeah ... you still have water, but it's not so bad. A water feature or fountain is nice ... but then you are definitely going into more work and maintenance. A rock garden may be beautiful and will make your spa very natural you more water if ... then go for something easy. I love my garden container. I have many other gardens to care - but this is my favorite as they do so well! Good luck to you! Nothing like sitting relaxing in the spa with beautiful plants around you! PS: I do not know not for you, but I use my spa especially at night. Consider planting plants with light colored or white. There are a wide variety: Caladium, Brugmansia, jasmine ... etc. I also like plants that have deeper flavor of the night! It is a bonus!
