Speaker Best Repair
What is the best glue for patching thin, ripped rubber?
I have a torn factory component speaker in my car and replacing it will cost quite a bit as it has a 2-ohm setup.
There's a small rip/tear in the outer rubber ring surrounding the speaker cone (connecting the cone to the frame), and I just want to find a quick way to patch it up. I know it's probably not the best idea, but I'm going to try it anyway.
I was thinking of just trying regular ol' superglue, but then thought that maybe hot glue would be better since it dries a bit more "rubbery", which would be good since the rubber that I'm repairing is the rubber that gets stretched when the speaker plays. OR maybe there's a better rubber glue altogether.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
go to lowes they have 20 different glues...i once fixed a car speaker with Duco cement...another time with some bike tire patch glue and cloth tape [[like medical tape..worked for years
