Surround Repair

What is med / large shrubs could surround a veranda? We live in the Midwest. I prefer an evergreen, not low to the ground.

I do not want to lower ground because snakes tend to gather in the bushes down here. I want something that was already three to four feet high, if possible. We would like the bushes to cover our porch, as we have done some repairs that look okay, but we do not alternatives to replace the porch. So we want to cover, preferably this year. Thus, an evergreen.

You can use any What evergreen tree available, but simply cut the lower branches off once it is established. I would lean towards a type of cedar, However, because they are naturally resistant to insects.
