There are two things in the game: (1) symmetry: since the load is in the center of the cube, the flux through each of the six faces of the cube is equal. (2) Gauss's law: the total electricity flows through the entire surface of the cube is equal to q / ε ₀. Put the two together, because the flow in the east side of -3 kN m² / C, the total flow during which the six faces (since the flow is equal on each side) is -18 kN m² / C. Since Gauss's law provides the total flux = q / ε ₀, we get: -18 kN m² / C = q / ε ₀ (-18 kN m² / C) = ε ₀ Q = -1.59 x 10 ^ (-7) C = -159 nC.
