Why radio broadcasters use these microphones giant?

most people in today's broadcasting industry use Microphone small hook on their jacket, or an office or other smaller pickups stand. Why do radio DJ's and other insist on these giant EV dynamic microphones?

Unless an advertiser has perfect microphone technique, sound collected by a lapel microphone for example will change when someone looks up, down left ... even with smaller pickups, to a degree. L '(pick-up) model microphones younger can be improved by the compressors and other gadgets. GREAT microphones were used in the past to help the sound of the advertiser if he or she moved an inch or two, because the bowels of the microwave are not as small as it is these days. My other answer, first part: Many people do not want hidden microphones. They like the looks of microphones as the "giant EV ..." and look at the Shure SM7. That Mike has been around for decades and people still buy them! (Robin Quivers of Howard Stern Show is still using one) Part 2: Why buy new when the old technology still works?
