What could be worng with my amplifier?
The fuse has blown in my amp. I replaced, but the new fuse blew as soon as I turned the camera on. Does anyone know what else I need to check or what could be the cause the problem? The amp is a PM32 Marrantz integrated stereo amplifier. I used the correct marking on the fuse, I replaced (250V 1.0A). I can not find a service manual online for this amp. Thank you for all the responses so far! Just some additional notes: 1. I think the problem is with the food stuff, not the audio. When I used to press the power button, power red LED lights up and after a few seconds there was the sound a "click". Now it's broken or these things happen. 2. When mentioning parties, please could you tell me what it is, what it does, what it might look like, etc.? I do not really know what that one of the internal parts are called but can should be able to work what you mean with a few clues. Thank you:)
What generally blows in power amplifiers is that power capacitors. They are large electrolytic who simply get tired all current inrush and short. You can usually see the bad in watching shrink around them and that the capacitor is heated as it goes evil, to shrink away from the top and no longer covers the top edge. In extreme cases, they explode from above in the sections which are the strain relief. Forget the fuse. He does his work. You could also have a short-circuit rectifier bridge in the diet. This is usually square with four terminals. If it goes wrong it often swells and cracks. They are good places to start.
