Well yes it can be connected to an amp, but it needs a filter to filter all the bass and midrange. Usually you buy a set of components "that comes with the woofer / midbass, tweeter and crossover. The "best" is subjective. Everyone likes something different. Some people prefer metal dome tweeters, silk, like cone tweeters. You need to go into an audio store, or Best Buy and listen to some. Other than, most tweeters brand will sound pleasant to most people. This is not a good question, since you'll have people giving answers like "I hate skiing, but I like football" and someone else might say "rock alpine, kicker sucks! ". What is your goal? (PS asks that said, I fully agree, DLS is one of many ultra high-end loudspeaker companies, but they could not sell seperate tweeters - and I also agree that the link is the most important. My old shool components have diamond crosses the size of three CD cases stacked on top of another! )
