What colors of ink color ink jet printers use to produce a full range of colors?
Do the form of color by adding color or by color subtraction?
Typically they use CMYK, which means Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. Whenever you have to do with the light that is not absent of an object, you deal with the removal of color. For example, a piece of paper did not ink on it, thus 100% of visible light is reflected off of it giving it a white appearance. After adding ink, portions of the light spectrum Visible are subtracted from the results for you. Therefore, you get the color. The reverse is true for light emitting sources such as TV monitors and computer. With these you do is usually with 3 LED per pixel - red, green and blue. If all you are off blacks. When you put all the pixels at all, you get white light. Close all but the pixel red light turn red. This is called color additive.
