any audiophiles out there?
looking for someone else who is also in tubes out of me
You found your man. I'll have nothing to do with the so-called "solid-state" audio gear. All my equipment is proudly analog, and it will remain this way. Digital sound reproduction is an abomination to me is that the music no good to chop into small pieces digital. My lovingly maintained and Scott Fisher tube gear has a rich and warm that I have never heard a single solid state stuff. I even like the tube top-end consoles. My friends think I'm crazy, and I do not care. There is so much fun to put the vinyl and listen to good REAL high fidelity reproduction of cracking CD in some Chinese-made piece of garbage and put up with the inanimate sound gimmicks that result. Give me a good amp with 6550 or EL-84 the final and I'm in heaven.
